A Brief History

Since 1994, Massive has quite literally set the standard for freestyle hull design.

The Departure, a Massive freestyle open boat caused such a stir at the 1995 Augsburg Rodeo Worlds that new rules had to be established governing design.

Two years later, during the 1997 Ottawa Rodeo Worlds, Paul Danks was barred from competition in his Massive Groove for reasons again concerning boat design. Massive continued its push to revolutionize design and generate breakthroughs in freestyle whitewater paddle sports. Since its inception, Massive has been about cutting edge technology, inventiveness, ingenuity, artistic form and unparalleled quality.

Now, teaming with the bold leadership, commitment and experience of Plastic kayak manufacturer ClearWater Design, Massive crosses the threshold into quality plastic whitewater kayaks for everyone! Massive will continue its tradition of quality and leading designs with the production of kayaks for beginner to elite.
